Reconstruction of complex objects in electrical capacitance tomography

Electrical capacitance tomography (ECT) is fast, non-invasive and low cost imaging technique but offers very low spatial resolution. This paper presents the results of application of a nonlinear optimization technique for 2D reconstruction of images of complex objects. The iterative image reconstruction algorithm is based on the modified Levenberg-Marquard formula with additional convergence parameter. The original forward problem solver is used to speed up sensitivity matrix calculation. The reconstruction for numerical and real objects is presented. The 16 electrodes ETC was used for the real data acquisition.
