Measurement of Denitrification in Sediments with the 15N Isotope Pairing Technique

Due to increasing nitrogen concentrations in surface waters ([6][1]) and eutrophication of coastal waters ([14][2], [26][3], [51][4]), the quantification of denitrification rates in sediments of lakes, rivers, and estuaries has gained importance.
