An Undergraduate Course in Real-Time Computer Systems

This paper describes a new course at the University of Cape Town aimed at teaching the principles and practices of real-time computer systems to undergraduate engineering students. The course requires students to undertake a practical project, involving a real-time control task, on a realistic process control computer system.
