Challenges faced in running ‘Train the Trainers’ program by industry professionals and possible solutions

Abstract A very large number of engineering students are graduating every year in India but a very small percentage of these graduates are employable. There are many factors that contribute to low employability and one of the prominent factors is teaching effectiveness in the engineering institutions. Industry-academia collaborations and train-the-trainers programs can play a significant role in improving the quality of teaching. This work discusses the importance of industry-academia collaboration for improving the quality of teaching in engineering institutions and presents the results and learningsof organizing a three month long train-the-trainers course on Advances in Programming at our university campus.
