On the Representation of Uncertain Information by Multidimensional Arrays

A multidimensional approach is introduced to the representation of uncertain information in conjunction with the Dempster-Schafer theory. A multidimensional array, called a transition array, is defined, which stores the joint probabilities of the occurrences of a set of variables taking values in different sets. Using this array, it is shown how to compute the information regarding the probability of occurrences of the variables as certain matrix products. >
