PAPR Reduction by Max-value Cancellation in OFDM System

How to reduce high peak-to-average power ratio(PAPR) of the transmit signal is a major issue of OFDM system. This paper investigates a new PAPR reduction algorithm——the Max-value Cancellation Algorithm. New algorithm directly adds redundant data on reserved subcarriers to change PAPR of original signal. After comparing PAPR of the new signal after adding redundant data and PAPR of original signal, the signal with lower PAPR will be selected and transmitted.Simulation results show that the new algorithm does not require any side information, and does not change the original signal sequence and phase relationship;therefore,it has good performance on reducing PAPR as well as the small impact on bit error rate. That is the key feature and merit of this method.
