An approach for the design of chemical reactors under microwave irradiation

This paper deals with the problem of designing a Microwave biological reactor operating in resonance conditions at 915 MHz. Though resonant cavities are well-known electromagnetic devices, when the irradiation phenomena occur in presence of chemical or biochemical systems, e.g. aqueous solutions, most of the design equations lose their meaning and, hence, should be modified. Thus, a general approach for the design of a resonant cavity as a chemical reactor is herein proposed.
