A DATED SEQUENCE OF BUILDING AND POTTERY AT LAS HALDAS

Although Las Haldas has been long known as an important Preceramic and Early Horizon site, its history remains obscure. The later phases of its architectural history were somewhat clarified by the brief period of work described here, since changes in structural techniques were found which can be approximately dated by radiocarbon and related to developments in pottery. The architectural history has implications for the social history of the Chavin period on the coast and is indicative of relations with other areas. 99
