Collaborative Learning in Distance Education: A Case Study

Collaborative Group Learning (CGL) through Tutored Video Instruction (TVI) has been proved to be an effective mode of learning. Here, this mode of learning has been used in off-campus certificate courses through a scalable and three-tiered implementation model. The courses compared very favourably with face to face learning situations and students were highly satisfied with the learning modality. Technological tools can now be used to make such courses much more effective and accessible to students beyond college campuses. Virtual classes through video conferencing, virtual laboratories, virtual group learning tools are some of the methods suggested for dealing with CGL in the present paper.
