Dynamic clustering scheme for target tracking in wireless sensor networks

Aimed at the problem of target tracking in the binary wireless sensor networks,an energy efficiency dynamic clustering scheme is proposed,in which the active radius is adjusted based on the number of the sensors in cluster. The tracking precision is improved by the cooperation of the sensors. The formation and recombine of the cluster and the energy consumption are described detailedly.Simulation results indicate that the scheme can reduce the energy consumption and prolong the network life while maintaining the tracking precision, compared to the existing methods.
