Analysis on Seismic Behaviors of T-Shaped Core Plate Frictional Damper

Numerical analyses of seismic behavior have been completed on a steel frame structure with a T-shaped core plate frictional damper by applying ANSYS in Tianjin city in the present paper.The structures with different layouts of frictional damper have been analyzed subjected to frequent and infrequent earthquake wave.The results indicated that T-shaped core plate frictional dampers had significantly improved the structures' seismic behaviors without negative effects on the side columns under earthquake loads.In addition,it reduced axial forces and improved safety of the frames.
