SREMP Coupling to Long Buried Lines - A Comparison of Trmnsmission Line and Finite-Difference Solutions

This paper considers the SREMP response of a long conductor immersed in a conducting medium (i.e., a buried line). The transmission line equations are first derived from Maxwell's equations, with emphasis on the assumptions and approximations made. Numerical results of a finite-difference code for solving Maxwell's equations are then compared to a transmission line computer model of the same geometry.
