Analysis of Electromagnetic Disturbance from Valve Hall in Convert Station

The electromagnetic disturbance from valve hall was analyzed, and the electromagnetic disturbance generated by the metal conductor structure in the valve hall of a ±500 kV converter station under normal state, especially the radiation electromagnetic field in the vicinity of the valve wall and the radio interference outside the valve hall were investigated. The electromagnetic model of the ±500 kV converter station valve hall was established by taking the element component of valve tower, metal conductor line and metal structure equalized as impedance, wire antenna and surface antenna, respectively. The comparison of testing results and other published results indicates that the proposed method is effective and accurate.By using the presented method the electromagnetic disturbance resulted from the metal conductor structure in the valve hall of ±800 kV converter station is analyzed.Combined with associated standard, the required shield efficiency of the valve wall is proposed. The research can be used both to evaluate the distribution of the electromagnetic field in converter station and for the shielding design of valve hall.
