On-line joint estimation of time-varying time-delays and parameters of nonlinear systems

On line joint time delay and parameter estimation of nonlinear systems are analyzed using an on line estimation method based on the genetic algorithm. The most important contribution of this approach is that decimal coding is used in the genetic algorithm to improve the performance of the traditional binary coding. The proposed approach can efficiently estimate time varying time delays and parameters of nonlinear systems even with system noise. Simulation results demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
