Primary productivity in the central North Pacific: comparison of oxygen and carbon fluxes

Abstract A re-examination of published data on oxygen and carbon fluxes in the pelagic zone of the central North Pacific Ocean does not support the hypothesis that inferred oxygen evolution is greater than can be explained by photosynthesis, as conventionally measured.
