Stripline-fed circular-polarised microstrip antennas for satellite mobile communications

Design techniques for reduced-size compact stripline-fed circularly-polarized microstrip antennas for satellite mobile communications are investigated. Microstrip antennas offer substantial advantages in this application due to their significantly reduced size and cost in comparison with alternatives. Several modified microstrip antennas were simulated, built and tested to evaluate their performance for this application. The simulations showed good agreement with the measurements and the antennas appear propitious for the application.
