Chapter 11. Περὶ Οὐρανοῦ, Τίς Ἡ Τούτου Οὐαία

This chapter focuses on loftiest and most eminent part of cosmos. It concentrates on the οὐσία of parts of the cosmos. The chapter starts as always with P. There are three lemmata, but the last of these is hopelessly corrupt. The first two lemmata in the mss. of P are quite acceptable. S is this time the more straightforward source. The first lemma is parallel to P1, but it shows signs of Stobean rephrasing. The addition of the name-label Parmenides is unexpected in light of its repetition in S4. The second doxa is identical to P2. The remaining three doxai are most intriguing when compared to P3, because we find that elements of all three are found there, but in reverse order. Keywords: οὐσία; cosmos; lemmata
