LP-10: Late-News Poster: Improvement of Transmittance and Viewing Angle of the OCB Mode LCD by using Wide-Viewing-Angle Circular Polarizer

A color-field sequential LCD using advanced OCB mode liquid crystal cell and an LED backlight has been developed. Application of a wide-viewing-angle-wide-band type circular polarizer realized a wide viewing angle and high transmittance OCB mode LC cell. This paper describes the concept of optical compensation and fundamental characteristics of advanced OCB mode LCD.
