Theoretical analysis of enhanced second-harmonic generation based on a self-formed antiguide structure

An antiguide structure having a core of lower refractive index confines lightwaves owing to Fresnel multiple reflection. Within a planar waveguide of a nonlinear-optical photoconductive polymer, the second-harmonic wave generated under the Cerenkov-radiation type phase matching can shape the antiguide structure to increase the second-harmonic power itself due to the optical confinement. Here, we theoretically analyze the enhancement.
