Acute Gastric Dilatation and Rupture in Macaca arctoides Associated with Clostridium perfringens

A clinical case of gastric dilatation and rupture is described in an adult male Macaca arctoides. Clostridium perfringens was isolated from the heart blood and liver. Data collected from our macaque colony for 13 years indicated a mortality rate of 3.5% due to acute dilatation.
