The Design Process for Concurrent Engineering

This paper lays a foundation for the construction of computerized concurrent engineering systems, by analyzing and outlining the design process of mechanical components in a way that readily lends its self to computer application. The design process is broken down to two phases that account for manufacturing and life-cycle issues. Two levels, that address component and assembly specifics are also considered.
