The sliding mesh techniques and the CFD software Fluent based on solving the RANS equations was employed to simulate the unsteady hydrodynamic performance of the propeller in uniform flow.To realistically model the rotation of the propeller,the steady state multiple reference frames(MRF) technique was utilized to obtain the initial flow field,and the sliding mesh technique was used to complete the whole calculation.The numerical results of thrust coefficient and torque coefficient were in good agreement with the experiment datum,showing that the method is feasible in researching the hydrodynamic performance of the propeller.
