Method and system for determination of position information of an aircraft during an approach to a runway.

The invention relates to a method of piloting an aircraft (1) during a final approach to a runway (2), the guidance of the aircraft during the approach using position information of the aircraft obtained from a GNSS satellite navigation system, wherein: - before the beginning of the final approach there is determined a first instant t corresponding to the beginning of said final approach and a second time t corresponding to the landing of the aircraft on said runway, and then determines a set of satellites of the satellite navigation system may be excluded from the calculation of said aircraft position information for at least a portion of the time interval between said first and second times; and - during the final approach of the aircraft position information is determined by excluding the information for all satellites of said set of satellites and along the final approach path is to guide aircraft using least said position information. The invention also relates to a control system adapted to implement this method.
