Book Review: Plastics Insulating Materials

Considering it is a translation the book is easy to read although the style is in places a bit unusual. One result of the book being a translation is that some of the nomenclature is not that in common use. Thus, for example, the term 'Tunnel Emission' is used instead of 'Field Emission', a 'Field Emission Microscope' is referred to as an 'Electron Projector' and an 'Image Convertor' is an 'Image Transformer'. It is perhaps these unusual technical terms that are the greatest drawback of the book as they could cause confusion to any reader who is a newcomer to the subject conerned, C. N. W. LITTING
