On the Additivity of π-Bond Energies in Linear Polyenes

The additivity of π-bond energies in linear polyenes was confirmed by taking nonaromatic [infinity]-annulene and -polyene as reference compounds. The π-bond energies determined by Hess and Schaad were found to be oriented to polyenes of a medium size.
