Nonlinear image sharpening in the HSV color space

This paper presents a concept of color image sharpening using nonlinear operations in HSV color space. Two different types of color image sharpeners have been designed, by taking advantage of operations used in mathematical morphology. The first sharpener utilizes fully-color pseudo top-hats transformations. The second one is a three-state toggle contrast operator and it uses two well-known morphological primitives i.e. erosion and dilation.
