A Study on Constant Modulus Blind Equalization Algorithm in Wireless Communications

The intersymbol interference(ISI) is a primary cause to degrade the performance of the wireless communication systems. Adaptive blind equalization algorithms are used to adjust equalizer coefficients and remove the ISI without the aid of training sequences. This paper introduces the principle of blind equalization technique. Constant modulus adaptive blind equalization algorithms are emphatically studied. By the analysis of CMA and the modified CMA, including the MMA and the dual-mode blind equalization algorithm, the performance of constant modulus algorithms is obtained. Computer simulations show that constant modulus algorithm has excellent performance in equalizing the channel of wireless communications.
