A Surgical Management Information System Driven by Workflow

Surgical healthcare service involves various interrelated activities performed from the beginning of surgical application to the completion of all producers after operation. A surgical process is finished jointly by at least three departments. It is necessary to provide an appropriate method to automate and manage this process. Hopefully, workflow technology can enhance the collaboration and cooperation by automatically routing the surgical process. This paper presents a surgical process model. Based on the optimized surgical process a prototype surgical management information system driven by workflow (SMISDW) is developed
