A high-precision spherical slippery footstep cold forming die was introduced. The die could make slippery footstep take shape, but the die core often broke, and thin-walled port of slippery footstep extruded section had micro-plastic deformation. Through the analysis of the rupture of die core and the pushing-out deformation, it was improved by making conical surface coordinate take the place of step coordinate and using gradient die unloading to displace previous die unloading. The improvement solved the rupture of die core and the pushing-out deformation. It effectively protected the extrusion die and ensured pieces dimensional accuracy. The results show that it has high practical value.
