heterogeneous devices inubiquitous computing environment. WS-ECArules forindividual devices may haveservice discrepancies witheachotherorcause undesirable situations whentheyareexecuted concurrently. Therefore, we propose conflict detection andresolution methods fordistributed ECA ruleprocessing inorder to prevent thevarious kinds ofabnormal situations. Keywords WS-ECAframework, WebServices, Conflict detection, Conflict resolution interactions amongservice-oriented, heterogeneous devices inubiquitous computing environment. Theproposed language bases ontheECArules whichareembedded in distributed service devices andthenareactivated byevents frominternal andexternal services. Thepresented ECA- based device coordination approach isexpected tofacilitate seamless interoperation amongtheWebServices-enabled devices intheemerging ubiquitous computing environment. Thepaperisorganized asfollows. We first discuss the background andrelated workonECAandevent driven rule management insection 2.Theproposed framework for WS-ECAandtheschemaofWS-ECAarepresented in section 3.Conflict detection andresolution ofWS-ECAis presented insection 4 andthensection 5concludes the paper.
