Bronzeville Community Microgrids: A Reliable, Resilient and Sustainable Solution for Integrated Energy Management with Distribution Systems

A community microgrid is a replicable solution to achieve advanced energy management in modern electric grids. This article explores the advanced design, control and test approaches used to implement a community microgrid in the Bronzeville neighborhood of Chicago, and the way a seamless integration of the microgrid into the existing distribution management system (DMS) was achieved.
