Women at work

Pakistan's traditional ways have blocked many women's careers in science. But, as Ehsan Masood discovers, women are now fighting for their rights, both in life and in research.Women's workTraditional attitudes have made it nearly impossible for Pakistani women to pursue careers in science. But things are beginning to change. A new style of Islamic feminism, in which women are demanding rights that they say Islam accords to them, is emerging. Though as Ehsan Masood reports, it is an uphill struggle.
