Characteristics of broadband underwater transducers integrated with tuning coils and cables

An application of a method to determine the characteristics of an integrated system using measured characteristics of the subsystems is presented. The method is used to predict the characteristics of broadband underwater transducers concatenated with tuning coils and long cables. The effect of measurement errors on the predicted characteristics of the integrated transducer is implicitly studied by comparing predicted and measured values. The results show that the method can be used to design tuning coils and other impedance-matching circuits for broadband applications.
