Research of the coupling transformer in the new bridge-type solid state fault current limiter system

For the coupling transformer in the new bridge-type solid satae fault current iimiter(SSFCL),an analysis and design method were proposed.The finite element analysis(FEA) method of magnetic-circuit coupled field could analyse the transformer's running characteristic accurately.The design methed based on the principle of variable impedance transformer,at the same time the coupling transformer had the current limiter's function.So that the size and cost of the whole current limiter system and the transformer could be reduced greatly,and it has good application prospect.
