Injected currents of controlled AC/DC converters for harmonic analysis in industrial power plants

An easy method for predetermining the injected current harmonics of current-controlled six-pulse bridge converters is proposed. The parameters considered are the operating point of the converter, given by the DC mean current I/sub d/ and EMF E, and two circuit parameters, AC network and DC reactance. When starting the predetermination, the operating point and the effective DC reactance have to be determined from the requirements of the applied DC loads. This leads to a uniform investigation of the controlled converter based on preliminary investigation reported elsewhere. As a result of systematic evaluations, the normalized line current harmonics are obtained graphically in the usual range of the parameters considered. >
