The Salience of Race and Gender in Pretrial Release Decisions: A Comparison Across Multiple Jurisdictions

This study examines disparities in pretrial release decisions based on race or gender, using a large dataset representing seventy five of the largest counties in the United States. This representative sample makes findings of this study more generalizable across jurisdictions, and enables examination of racial and gender disparities across geographic regions.
