Your College Experience: Strategies for Success

YOUR COLLEGE EXPERIENCE provides an intelligent and thorough guide for college students to improve academic and personal skills, from test taking to time management. John Gardner is a well-known proponent of the first-year seminar and was instrumental is creating the National Resource Center for the First-Year Experience and Students in Transition at the University of South Carolina. Based on the belief that any one can succeed in college as long as the student is prepared for change, each chapter of the book is co-written with consultants who are experts on their various fields. The book is packaged with a free CD-ROM that contains a variety of exercises and self-assessments. Adopters of the book can benefit from the extensive College Success workshop program Wadsworth offers, including teacher training workshops (both on campus and on e-seminar), and additional student and instructor resources.
