Closed-Loop Control Scheme to Control Epileptic Activity Based on UKF

In this Paper, to develop a new detection and control strategy for epilepsy, a multi -coupled neural mass model (NMM) is proposed to reproduce epileptic seizures. The unscented Kalman filter (UKF) based on bayesian estimation is used to estimate the states and parameters of the NMM and reconstruct normal and epilepsy brain states. Then, the closed-loop control system includes a computation model to reconstruct, a state observer to observe and a controller to adjust the brain activities depends on the slow permittivity variable in NMM.
