Reluctance network model of turbo-generator and its application - part 1: model

A dynamic model and simulation method of turbo-generator by reluctance network model is presented. The reluctance network model is based on the analogy between magnetic and electric circuits, and each tooth, yoke and slot of generator is expressed one of magnetic conductor cell, its main advantages are to take into the rotor movement and core saturation effects, with a good compromise between calculation time and accuracy of results. Then the generator status differential equations based on the reluctance network model are developed, whose parameters are stator winding branch current, stator reluctance, rotor reluctance, air-gap reluctance, and rotor magnetomotive force. Finally, it is applied to the study of the rotor winding inter-turn short circuit fault of turbo-generator, and main results are presented and compared to experiments
