Antenna arrays for cellular CDMA systems

This paper discusses research on incorporating antenna arrays in cellular code division multiple access (CDMA) systems. The focus is on the mobile-to-base station link or uplink, looking at a number of different approaches to operating antenna array systems. These vary from very simple techniques involving increased sectorisation to sophisticated adaptive array and interference suppression techniques. Finally, the paper includes a discussion of the algorithms that could be used for antenna array transmission on the downlink.
