The MODIS-based npp model and its validation

The model described in this study was a model based on light-use efficiency. Most of the parameter in this model, including leaf area index (LAI), fraction of absorbed photosynthetically active radiation (FPAR), photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) and albedo etc., which all derived from MODIS data, and daily meteorological data provided by meteorological stations or flux tower. Net primary production (NPP) measured at height of 39m with eddy covariance technique in Qianyangzhou flux tower in Jiangxi province, south China, has been use to validate the estimated NPP from MODIS-based model . The result shows the NPP calculated from this paper is consistent with measured NPP.
