Method of low duty mode operation for femto base station

PURPOSE: A method of operating a low duty mode for a femto base station is provided to use a low load mode pattern in order for a terminal to sequentially decode a super frame header and receive a preamble in the minimum time in a femtocell. CONSTITUTION: A transmission point of preamble of a macro BS(Base Station) and femto base stations is identical to that of a superframe header. In order to try scanning in a femto base station which is operated in a low load mode, a terminal sequentially receives a PA(Primary Advance) preamble, an SA(Secondary Advanced) preamble and a superframe header in an available interval start point of an LDM(Low Duty Mode) pattern of the femto base station. A terminal is able to perform scanning for the macro base station or another femto base station during an unavailable interval.
