Robust decentralised controller for linear-interconnected dynamical systems

In this paper we develop an entirely new approach to the solution of the decentralised control problem for large-scale linear-interconnected dynamical systems. We provide a simple reduced-order model for the interactions, and, using this interaction model, we compute a decentralised controller whose parameters are independent of the initial states and which can accommodate unknown constant external disturbances. In the implementation of the controller; there is no passage of state information between the subsystems. The new method has been illustrated on a 22nd-order river-pollution control example.
