MIMO-SC-FDMA system with iterative decision feedback equalization

The BER performance of MIMO-SC-FDMA system may degrade quickly when the frequency-selective deep fading occurs in the channel. In order to solve this problem the IB-DFEIC (iterative block decision-feedback equalization & interference cancellation) algorithm applied in MIMO-SCFDMA system is proposed in this paper. In this algorithm the inter-layer interference and inter-symbol interference will be cancelled at the same time in the iterative equalization. But the IB-DFEIC algorithm includes complex matrix inversion. In order to reduce the computation complexity the suboptimum IB-IC-DFE (iterative block interference cancellation and then decision-feedback equalization) algorithm is also put forward. In this algorithm the interference cancellation operation will be firstly executed to cancel the inter-layer interference, and then the decision-feedback equalization will be executed to cancel the inter-symbol interference. The simulation results that comparing with the general MMSE (minimum mean square error) algorithm, these two algorithms have great performance improvement. So they can be used for MIMO-SC-FDMA system to overcome the frequency selective deep fading in the channel.
