IN OXYGEN ENGINEERING

The production of oxygen plants, compressors, refrigerating machines, pumps, and other types of chemical equipment, which are considered by the USSR State Planning Commission in the interindustry production balance, are planned at present in terms of units (sets) of these machines, while the basic chemical equipment is reckoned in thousand tons. It is assumed that this index reflects the output of equipment by the particular industry, and characterizes the extent of participation of that industry in the interindustry production balance and the use of the pi~oduct in the national economy; it is also the basis for planning of the consumption norms of materials, power, and investment for unit product in that industry.
