A visual contents education in university has diverse majors such as game technology, three dimension animation, virtual effect, lighting and others with practical learning curriculums for each. Since those major"s curriculums are based on practical training, there are voices that common scoring methodology is not suitable to them. In that sense, this research suggests evaluation index for visual contents education area based on competency model that is applicable to eight visual contents majors those divided by job specification in visual contents industry. The main index model in this research is structured by basic concept for practical industrial needs as worker. Therefore, the model has three main competencies: common, job, and creativity while each main competency maintains core lower level competencies to match industrial needs as worker in each majors. The prototype model is revised by each major experts such as professor. In this research, we statistically pilot tested the model with fourth grade digital contents division in A university to validate the model for independency of the model and applying the division scholarship assessment and administration. As a result, the competency evaluation model in this research has mere correlation to four year total score graded by present scoring system while underlying common and job index have not correlation to total score.
