Sarradint Abstract- Themajorgoalofthisproject, elaborated inthe frameoftheSTREPExocet/D European project, wastodesign a first autonomous long-term imaging moduleequipped witha deep-sea video camera, adequate lightning andsufficient energy storage whiletaking advantage ofmostrecentprogress in imaging andphotonics. Thenewecological moduleTEMPO was tested anddeployed during theMomaretocruise heldfrom August6toSeptember 6,2006onthenewFrenchoceanographic vessel Pourquoi pas?, withtheROV Victor 6000. Thescientific objectives oftheMomaretocruise weretostudy thespatial and temporal dynamics ofhydrothermal communities colonizing the MoMAR zone, located ontheAzores Triple Junction.
