Basic magnetic formulation for power grid planning

An energy-efficient description of electromagnetism lying on a reversible interpretation of the Faraday’s law is described. Space-consolidation and time-reconciliation of all the scales involved in the management of the power system are derived from this framework. At the upper space-scale, a simplified description of the grid based on the Kuramoto’s model is proved to be suitable for assessing the stability of the synchronous state of a power system. Then, a coherent approach for long-term power systems analysis is proposed and demonstrated in the case of the French Reunion island which has set a 100% renewable energy target for 2030.
