Une éruption vieille d'environ 10700 ans (14C) dans les Carpates orientales (Roumanie)

A thick tephra formation erupted by the crater Sfinta Ana and/or the crater Mohos is dated at 10,700±180 yr BP by 14 C-dating of charcoal included in one of its pyroclastic flows. Morphological and sedimentological evidence in and around the crater is in agreement with the obtained age. This result is particularly original, because according to current literature, the most recent eruption in the Carpathian volcanic field was about 220,000 years old
