A 200 GHz Broadband, Fixed-Tuned, Planar Doubler

A 100/200 GHz planar balanced frequency doubler has been designed and tested. The doubler is designed for high output power and efficiency over a wide bandwidth without relying on mechanical tuners of any kind. The only available tuning mechanism is through an external electronic DC bias supply. The doubler employs a six anode planar Schottky Barrier varactor array fabricated at the University of Virginia Semiconductor Device Laboratory.
